Summary of the HCG Stabilization Phase
Some authors call the second phase of the oral hcg diet stabilization, the phase in which you must take HCG diet supplies. Others say that stabilization is the third step of this treatment, the period in which you adjust your body to eating normal quantities of food. In this article, we will refer to the period after taking HCG diet supplies as stabilization, or the third phase of Dr Simeons’ treatment.
The routine of this phase varies slightly with the type of HCG program you follow. In some cases, you must continue your VLCD (without taking HCG diet supplies anymore) in stabilization as well. Your body will have already been adjusted to receiving small quantities of nutrients, so it is very likely that hunger pangs aren’t a problem in this phase. Other types of programs advise the dieters to begin increasing the quantities of food and varying the dishes starting with the day they don’t take hcg diet supplies anymore.
In both situations, the instructions that come with these supplies will guide you through the stabilization routine step by step. Regardless of how long the previous phase of the oral HCG diet was, stabilization has a fixed length, of exactly 4 weeks (28 days). At the end of this phase you must already eat normal quantities of food. The only types of foods you must avoid during stabilization are sugar and starch. You can eat anything else, in moderate quantities.
In order to figure out the maximum food intake allowed daily, you need to listen to your bodies. Never eat until you’ve completely satisfied your hunger, but don’t starve either. Some dieters believe that following the same VLCD they previously used in the second phase of the oral HCG diet will help them stay slim. However, one cannot survive only on 500 calories daily without suffering severe nutritional deficiencies. If you want to avoid regaining weight, you need to respect three rules:
- Diversify your food and make sure your body doesn’t lack nutrients. If needed, take food supplements too.
- Eat enough, but don’t overeat. Consult with a nutritionist to discover the right amount of food your body needs to maintain its current weight.
- Work out as often and varied as possible. Stay active, go to the gym, practice team sports and avoid wasting time in front of your PC and TV.

Moving into a house that is described as a fixer upper can be a harrowing experience, at times. Last year, my wife and I bought a lovely little house in a distressed neighborhood in our city; the place was slowly gentrifying, and we were part of that wave. Although the house was shabby, with a little tender loving care we knew we could make it something special. However, its problems were more than just aesthetic. The entire
